About Center Playhouse

The Center Playhouse is home to Center Players.  It is an intimate, 49-seat community theater located at 35 South Street in downtown Freehold, NJ.  Following a five-year development effort, its doors opened in March, 2001 with a gala celebration and sold-out run of "Crossing Delancey," Center Players' debut presentation in the new space.  The theater is handicapped-accessible and hosts four to five Signature Series productions each year, as well as Special Events and monthly “Book in Hand” playreadings. Parking is allowed for our patrons directly across the street from the theater in the County lot on Mechanic Street.  Dinner packages are offered with local restaurant partners for most events. The Playhouse is available for rental for special events, meetings and as a performance venue.
